About Edena

Brazil is the seventh largest energy consumer in the world and has an aggressive target to expand and diversify its renewable energy sources by 2030. Furthermore, the country has vast territory and favorable conditions for wind and photovoltaic projects, with irradiation and wind levels better than most countries of the world.

Based on this potential, Edena's founders created the company in 2014 to develop projects of electricity generation from renewable sources - solar, wind and biomass, being able to develop greenfield projects and providing a range of services including but not limited to site evaluation, feasibility studies, regulatory support and construction management, from the deployment up to the operation.

The EDENA developed strategic partnerships with leading service providers to ensure the quality and success of the projects of their development platform.

Thus, in August 2015 EDENA was the winner of the Reserve Energy Auction ( LER ) with UFV Verde Vale III project (15 MW). Besides that, EDENA has more than 700MW of photovoltaic projects in different development stages.

The American S & C Electric Company will be responsible for installing the first photovoltaic generation system integrated with distributed storage technology and power management in Brazil. The unprecedented project will be developed in an upscale condominium of 20 houses in the state of Ceará, with commissioning expected in September 2016.

”We are installing the latest technology in energy storage”, said the Agency CanalEnergia Diego Elizalde, general manager of S & C in Brazil, after participating in the Brazilian Seminar Storage and Power Quality in São Paulo, on Thursday, 5 November. The project consists of a 150 kW battery bank and a power source management system. The batteries will ensure electricity in the event of shortages from the local utility. The value of the project was not disclosed.

According to Carlos Augusto Brandão, director of the Association of Storage and Power Quality, this is also the first commercial project management and energy storage of S & C in Brazil. S & C is a global provider of equipment and services for electric power systems, with over 100 years of experience in network solutions and more than 150 MW deployed.
